We now have scientific evidence that the arts can improve our health and have the power to heal and transform each and every one of us. Join teaching artist Robin Briceño inside SPAM's Cole Creativity Center to enrich your life with unique exercises that combine movement, music, and art to awaken your senses, refresh your mind, and uplift your spirit. Class will begin with a yoga-inspired activity to relax the body and mind followed by a meditative, hands-on art project. You’ll also experience a luxurious sound bath led by musician Karina Arcia. Using Tibetan Bowls and various instruments, Karina will play sacred sounds to help you relax, meditate, and connect with yourself on a deeper level.

This workshop will be taught on Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

This class is for ages 16 and over. The cost of this workshop is $40 per person. All skill levels are welcome. Students should bring their own yoga mat and dress comfortably. All other supplies will be provided. Preregistration is required and space is limited. The course will be held inside SPAM’s Cole Creativity Center located at 123 N 10th St., Santa Paula, CA. Free parking is available directly behind the building and students may enter through the front or back door.

About Our Teaching Artist: With a background in dance, opera and musical theater, Robin Briceño has successfully blended her personal passions into her 30-year career working as a Registered Music Therapist and more recently as a Registered Yoga Instructor in treatment and educational settings; facilitating and coordinating programs to inspire and help others heal and achieve their wellness goals through exploration of the Expressive Arts and Yoga. In addition to holding certifications in Hatha and AIReal Yoga™, she is also certified in Accessible Yoga, bringing the benefits of yoga and meditation to Every Body through the use of props and modifications of traditional yoga poses. She holds a certification in Trauma-Sensitive Yoga and Meditation by the Warriors at Ease organization specializing in serving members of Military communities and First Responders. Robin operates her own business, Harmony Yoga & Wellness, offering singing lessons for wellness in addition to her yoga classes.
