About Our Teaching Artist:

Chelsey was born and raised in Fillmore, California. She attended Ventura College, achieving her Associate’s Art degrees in Fine Arts, Ceramics, and Arts & Humanities. While studying, she fell in love with ceramics, and has devoted the last ten years to working with clay, creating functional pottery as well as ceramic sculptures. Chelsey is inspired by the serenity found in nature and the minimalism of neutral hues and simple shapes. She incorporates these elements in her work to invoke a moment of escapism from the daily routines of life.
