From doodles to masterpieces, drawing is the most accessible and common form of art! Learn academic techniques to elevate your drawings by exploring foundational concepts, such as value, composition and the form principle with this four-part Intro to Drawing course! Using graphite and charcoal, teaching artist Ryan Cole will guide students through step-by-step projects to study concepts and practice techniques inspired by still life arrangements of various objects.
The course will be taught on four consecutive Wednesdays: October 2; October 9; October 16; October 23, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each day.
This class is appropriate for everyone ages 16 and over. The cost of the four-part course is $125.00 per person. All skill levels are welcome and all materials are provided. Preregistration is required and space is limited. The course will be held inside the Cole Creativity Center located at 123 N 10th St, Santa Paula, CA. Free parking is available directly behind the building and students may enter through the front or back door.

About Our Teaching Artist:
Ryan is an Oxnard native with a passion for expressing himself using visual media with a focus on the human form. Ryan has fifteen years of experience drawing and painting from live models. Working extensively with a live model is an integral part of Ryan’s process: moving quickly and with repetition creates a visual library that can be relied upon instinctively. Ryan is excited to help you build your own visual library and guide you down your artistic path.
