Join the Santa Paula Art Museum’s inaugural Art in Agriculture - Artist in Residence Lissa Corona for a special comida-style gathering to kick off her residency on Saturday, June 22, 2019, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm! Enjoy food, conversations, share stories, and hear about Lissa's plans for her community-inspired art project. All are welcome and admission to the event is free. The gathering will be held inside the Museum’s Cole Creativity Center.
The Museum's Art In Agriculture artist residency focuses on bringing artists into our agricultural community and providing those artists with experiences and access that is not commonly associated with artistic production. During her residency, Lissa will be out in the community, meeting people and exploring our landscape. Her residency will culminate in a work of art that will be featured in The 12th Annual Art About Agriculture exhibition, which will premiere in November 2019.
Lissa Corona is a San Diego native with family ties to the Santa Paula region. She is a multi-disciplinary artist with work in video, sculpture, and drawing. Her recent artwork focuses on text as both the visual output and a method to explore meaning, interaction and translation.
This residency is generously funded by a Limoneira Foundation Fund Grant.
