The Santa Paula Art Museum will be giving away free Art To-Go Bags on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. The bags will be available via a drive-thru only pick up in the parking lot behind the Santa Paula Art Museum starting at 10:00 a.m. (while supplies last - limit 5 bags per family). Please enter the parking lot from 10th Street and follow the posted signs and directions from staff.
This month’s free Art To-Go Bag celebrates Dia de los Muertos with fun and meaningful projects. Inside the bag you’ll find a mix of art-making materials including colorful scrapbook paper, markers, face painting crayons, tissue paper, and more. Kids will be encouraged to explore Dia de los Muertos traditions through art with projects like family history zines, clay sugarskull pendants, decorative paper calaveras, and mini-ofrendas. Plus, we’ll share a link to a video tutorial by our good friend Deanna, the artist behind Fancy Pantz Face and Body Art, and she’ll show you how to do your own Dia de los Muertos face paint. Send us a picture of your face painted for Dia de los Muertos, and you’ll be entered into a raffle to win a basket full of art goodies!
The Museum’s free art to-go bags are made possible by sponsors Brianne McGrath, Kai and John Blanchard, Fran and Jim Christiansen, Patti and Pete Fallini, Fancy Pantz Face and Body Art, Kathy Good, Laurence Holmer, Willa and Earl McPhail, Michael Pulliam, Santa Paula VFW Post #2043, and Dorcas Thille.
