Dr. Roberto Vargas of Ventura, California is a longtime leadership coach for community advocacy and service organizations. He has also been a son, brother, and father to artists, including daughter Andrea Vargas, whose solo exhibition, “On the Ranch,” is currently on view at the Santa Paula Art Museum. For Roberto, Andrea’s art is porvida art, porvida meaning “for life, love, and positive joy.”

On Saturday, September 2, 2023, Dr. Roberto Vargas will lead a gallery talk on “Porvida Art to Bring You Joy” with Andrea’s exhibition serving as backdrop and example. Andrea will also be in attendance! Dr. Vargas will discuss how everyone can connect to art to nurture feelings of beauty, love, life, and service, and how that joy can be shared with others. The gallery talk will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m. Admission to the talk is free for everyone. Reservations are not required.
