It's never too early to cultivate creativity. Build whole-child skills, spend quality time, and nurture a love of creativity and art during our Mommy/Daddy and Me class for children ages 4 and under. With an emphasis on process and collaboration, students will embrace the power of self-expression and brain-boosting play using the visual language of color and shape. Easy arts access and the clean-up is on us! This class is designed for small children up to age 4 with an adult partner (up to two kids per adult). All supplies will be included. Mommy/Daddy and Me will be taught on four Wednesday mornings in March: Wednesday, March 4, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; Wednesday, March 11, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; Wednesday, March 18, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; and Wednesday, March 25, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The cost of this class varies: $25.00 for all four sessions for one parent and one child; $35.00 for all four sessions for one parent and two children; $8.00 for a one-time drop-in class for one parent and one child; and $10.00 for a one-time drop-in class for one parent and two children. About Our Teaching Artist: Kathleen Kaller is a teaching artist originally from the East Coast now living with her family in Ventura, California. She is also the Santa Paula Art Museum’s Museum Educator. Kathleen received a Bachelor of Arts from Emerson College in Boston in film and art history. She continued her education and studied painting, textile design, art education and art therapy at Otis College in Los Angeles. Her love for the ocean, color, and hand-made printmaking inspires her creative work and workshops. Kathleen also believes wholeheartedly in the therapeutic power of art. Emphasizing the creative process over the final outcome, she guides her students to expand and trust their intuition.
