Team up with experienced plein air enthusiast Lisa Mahony and learn the tools and techniques for successful outdoor painting. Students will meet at the Santa Paula Art Museum’s Cole Creativity Center for preparation and guidance, and then walk to nearby spots for inspiration from local vistas and one-to-one guidance. Easels and notebooks will be provided. Guests are welcome to bring portable stools or chairs, snacks and water. First time students: Please choose the enrollment option that includes the portable gouache kit ($55.00). Returning students who have already purchased the kit can choose the enrollment option without the kit ($40.00). This class is for everyone ages 16 and over. All skill levels are welcome. About Our Teaching Artist: Lisa Mahony graduated from University of California Santa Cruz with a Bachelor in Art, and is a juried artist member of the California Art Club, a member of the Buenaventura Art Association and the Artists Guild of Fillmore. She also serves on the Art Commission for the City of Fillmore, California. Lisa explains her love of plein air painting like this: "There is something energizing about being outdoors.
