Meet Ventura artist Kay Zetlmaier inside the Museum’s Cole Creativity Center and watch as she demonstrates her abstract painting process, including her use of cold wax medium. The demonstration coincides with Zetlmaier’s current solo exhibition, Geomorphic: The Living Earth, on view now through September 11, 2022, at the Santa Paula Art Museum. The demonstration will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m., and admission to the event is FREE for everyone. Reservations are not required.
Kay Zetlmaier (b. 1948) graduated from Long Beach State University with a degree in art, and later a secondary teaching credential. She earned her master’s in humanities with an emphasis in painting from Cal State University, Dominguez Hills. Zetlmaier was a high school art teacher in Ventura, California, for thirty years, first at St. Bonaventura High School and then Ventura High School. She is a member of Buenaventura Art Association, Los Angeles Art Association Santa Barbara Abstract Arts Collective, American Women Artists, and the Encaustic Art Institute. Zetlmaier currently resides in Ventura, California.
