Artist Biography

Robert (Bob) Raser was born in 1943 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1968, he received a BA in Broadcasting & Communications from Pennsylvania State University. He began his career as an NBC page in New York and quickly established himself with his work on The Dick Cavett Show, The Mike Douglas Show in Philadelphia, followed by the Good Day Show in Boston. He moved to California in 1979.

Bob produced and directed segments for the network show Real People. After working in production for a number of years, Bob hosted the Have a Heart show on America's Talking Network in New York. Bob established his own production firm and became a producer of on-location based reality segments and video production for multiple clients including The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. He was a member of the DGA and AFTRA.

In later years, Raser turned his creative talents to plein air painting. He loved capturing the light and energy of the Southern California coast in his acrylic paintings. He also loved painting on Monhegan Island, Maine, and along the coast of Massachusetts, delighting in the scenery and local characters. The hallmarks of Raser’s paintings are sunshine, deep shadows, and bright color. Raser was a member of the California Art Club and the Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains and Seashore.
