  • Santa Paula Art Museum 117 North 10th Street Santa Paula, CA, 93060 United States (map)

Pilot's Discretion: Aerial Photos by Bill Dewey is an upcoming exhibition of aerial photographs by the Santa Barbara artist. As a private pilot and professional photographer, Bill Dewey's images are captured from the cockpit of his Cessna 172. His photographs reveal extraordinary bird’s-eye views of the California landscape, filled with unique compositions, patterns and color palettes. The exhibit opens with a premiere party on Saturday, June 17, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission to the premiere is $10.00 for museum members and $15.00 for non-members.

Bill Dewey has been photographing the California landscape since the early 1970s. He has had a photography studio in Santa Barbara for over 30 years and bases his aerial photography out of Santa Barbara airport. Dewey’s solo show will feature some of his favorite images, ranging from the Sierras to the Santa Clara River Valley. Guests of the premiere will have the opportunity to meet the photographer whose work is driven by a desire to share the bigger picture of our local landscape. The exhibition will also include a video interview with the artist as well as inflight footage of the photographer at work. Pilot’s Discretion runs through October 15, 2017.

Admission to the premiere: SPAM Members $10.00 // Non-members $15.00
