Premiere Party: Anne Ward's "Painted Seasons"

  • Santa Paula Art Museum 117 N 10th Street Santa Paula United States (map)

Join us at the Santa Paula Art Museum for the premiere of “Painted Seasons,” a solo exhibition by Ojai artist Anne Ward. Anne Ward is obsessed with light and pattern and color. Two years ago, Ward began thinking a lot about impermanence in the midst of so much change and also about the things that make her feel calm and uplifted. As a gardener, she finds the seasons and what is blooming at a particular time to be profoundly reassuring. The garden helps her to reconcile change and embrace the “season of now.” “Painted Seasons” represents various seasons of life from old family photos, to the greens of early spring and the energy of summer. Ward’s great hope is that her paintings function like a window which, when opened, can allow people to notice the “ordinary” in a different way and hopefully feel some of the energy of optimism with which she painted them.

Admission to the premiere party on Saturday, March 15, 2025, is $5 for SPAM Members and $10 for non-members. Beer, wine, and hors d’oeuvres will be served. All of the paintings will be available for purchase.

“Painted Seasons” will be on view from March 15, 2025, to July 6, 2025.

More About Anne:

Artist Anne Ward is dedicated to creating paintings that inspire rooms. She loves to make paintings that create calm, provide hope, and resonate with enthusiasm. Anne always dreamed of becoming a painter and decided to pursue painting after working for a Hollywood writer/director on several films. It was while living in France that Anne discovered the thrill of painting outdoors with an easel and returned home fully devoted to the pursuit of painting. Anne is primarily self taught and has been painting and showing her work for the over 30 years. Anne is an Artist Member of the California Art Club and Oil Painters of America. Her paintings reside in many private collections. Her great joy aside from teaching, is growing food and flowers in her yard where she lives and paints with her husband, writer/painter Ian Roberts.
