Join us at the Santa Paula Art Museum on Saturday, March 11, 2023, for the premiere of “Shadow and Light: The Landscape Paintings of Bruce Everett.” With an eye for the drama of shadow and light, San Luis Obispo County artist Bruce Everett presents a survey of sweeping landscape paintings from his sixty-year career, delivering awe-inspiring views of Los Angeles north to the Central Coast. Admission to the premiere party is $5.00 for SPAM members and $10.00 for non-members. “Shadow and Light” will be on view from March 11, 2023, to July 9, 2023.
About Bruce Everett
Bruce Everett was born in Los Angeles but raised in the Midwest just north of Chicago. Although he showed early artistic ability, Everett didn’t start painting until college. He received a Masters in Art from the University of Iowa, and a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Bruce taught briefly at the University of Washington, Seattle. He then became a Professor of Art at California State University, Northridge from 1970 until he retired in 2005.
Everett's work has been exhibited in museums and galleries in Los Angeles and throughout Southern California, Oregon, Seattle, New York, Connecticut, and Texas. His art is included in numerous books, exhibition catalogs, and publications on Photorealism and landscape painting. Everett currently lives and paints in Templeton, California.
